Street Stories

Is a film documentary project tracking socio political issues and perceptions around race, gender and belonging, through the individual recollections of over 400 people who live or work on three arterial roads in Cape Town. This project produced 6 documentaries, a book and an extensive photographic exhibition.

The documentaries are composed mainly of interviews with individuals along these roads, as they share their stories and memories of personal, historical and contemporary events.  see: Street Stories Catalogue and Previews

Together with the documentaries, we have created a 64 page visual-text, Street Stories from Klipfontein, Main and Lansdowne Road: a collection of photographs and stories from the streets, which highlights and expands on stories touched on in the audio-visual series.
