FORMS:

  • Copyright release form
(Each interview MUST be accompanied by an interview release form. It is your responsibility to thoroughly explain the implications of the form to interviewees. Remember that many people do not have an understanding of what it means to sign over copyright of their interview - it is up to you, the interviewer to explain all the details to them in a sensitive and understandable manner)
  • Material release form
(This form is only used if the interviewee is giving you extra material such as photographs, videos, documents or newspaper clippings)
  • Accession Record form
  • Guidelines for transcribing oral history interviews (The spoken word has many dimensions with which to convey fact and feeling: pitch, loudness, strength, speed, pronunciation and sounds that are not in words. The transcribing process means one only has words to convey these variances.)
